Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Romeo Roethlisberger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roman Terpak! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Terpak misses with a few strikes there.
Roethlisberger checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Terpak tries to land a leg kick but Roethlisberger saw it coming and moves away.

Terpak throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Roethlisberger trying to control but he's not successful this time. Roethlisberger with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roethlisberger working for a guillotine from mount but Terpak is in no mood to give up. Terpak is trying to reverse the position but instead Roethlisberger has taken his back - oops! What can Terpak do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Roethlisberger looking to break Terpak's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Terpak remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Roethlisberger will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Terpak tries to break free.

Terpak drops back, looking for a kneebar! Roethlisberger looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Roethlisberger looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Roethlisberger! Roethlisberger avoids the strikes from the bottom by Terpak. Terpak looks gassed! Roethlisberger looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Terpak misses with an elbow from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roethlisberger trying to control the position but Terpak is working away. Terpak tries to improve position but can't. Roethlisberger advances nicely into full mount. Terpak sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Roethlisberger is trying to control. Terpak wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Terpak trying to get back to full guard but Roethlisberger takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Terpak throws a strike but has given up his back in the process.

Roethlisberger is trying to stick to Terpak's back but Terpak is turning into Roethlisberger. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Roethlisberger's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Terpak. Roethlisberger trying to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Roethlisberger trying to control but Terpak is having none of it. Roethlisberger looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Terpak is trying desperately to improve position. Terpak tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and Roethlisberger has taken his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roethlisberger struggling to keep hold of the position.
Terpak manages to reverse the position and now he's in Roethlisberger's guard. Nice work there by Terpak.
Roethlisberger wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roethlisberger tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Terpak was well out of range. Poor timing from Roethlisberger. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Roethlisberger checks a leg kick. Terpak doesn't succeed with the takedown and Roethlisberger counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Terpak! Roethlisberger looking to control and managing it successfully. Roethlisberger working for a submission but Terpak is keeping him at bay. Terpak looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Terpak showing good submission defense here.
Terpak tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Terpak is breathing heavily.

Roethlisberger is pulling down on Terpak's head. It's preventing any offense from Terpak, at least for the moment. Roethlisberger has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Terpak thows a big elbow that misses. Terpak working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Terpak won't allow Roethlisberger to sweep him here. Terpak is looking to work some ground and pound but Roethlisberger has wrist control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice sprawl there from Terpak as Roethlisberger shoots in. Roethlisberger scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Terpak strikes from the bottom but Roethlisberger passes into mount!

Terpak won't enjoy being in this position. Roethlisberger looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Terpak is tapping - it's over boys! Roethlisberger picks up the submission victory!
