Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Ahrun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pooper Kidal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renzo Ahrun! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pooper Kidal! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ahrun is defended easily by Kidal. Kidal shoots in and bounces Ahrun off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Ahrun throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Ahrun looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kidal is one step ahead there. Kidal throws a strike but Ahrun rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ahrun is working Kidal over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidal looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kidal has momentary wrist control but Ahrun slips an elbow through the middle. Ahrun stopping the sweep attempt from Kidal. Ahrun decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kidal, up you get! Ahrun closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ahrun is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kidal defends it well. Ahrun is thwarting Kidal's attempts to control the position. Kidal on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ahrun working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidal avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ahrun. Kidal is refusing to be controlled, as Ahrun sits in half guard. Ahrun controlling the pace. Ahrun lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Kidal is looking to control Ahrun's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kidal avoid being mounted? Ahrun thows a huge punch but Kidal dodges it nicely.
Ahrun sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kidal defending well though. Kidal is refusing to be controlled, as Ahrun sits in half guard. Ahrun is breathing heavily.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kidal gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ahrun tries to break the clinch but Kidal is controlling the position. Ahrun tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kidal just stands there and leans against the cage. Kidal jumps guard.
Ahrun loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kidal wants to improve his position but instead Ahrun has moved into half guard.
Ahrun seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Ahrun scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ahrun throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kidal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kidal is pressing down on Ahrun's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ahrun gets to his feet. Kidal looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kidal shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kidal showed some decent athleticism there. Ahrun is looking to control Kidal's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ahrun avoid being mounted? Ahrun is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ahrun is staying active underneath Kidal, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Kidal tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ahrun knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Renzo Ahrun dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kidal misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ahrun.
Ahrun is looking to clinch but Kidal is avoiding it.
A nice combination there by Kidal.
Kidal tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Ahrun counters with a takedown into side control. Ahrun misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ground and pound from Ahrun seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Ahrun decides to take the fight back to the feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kidal shoots for a takedown but Ahrun saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ahrun doesn't manage to clinch there - Kidal circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kidal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ahrun will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ahrun forces Kidal back against the cage and clinches. Ahrun takes an elbow to the temple. Kidal jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ahrun walks away with a smile on his face. Kidal gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Kidal instigates a clinch. Ahrun jumps guard but Kidal stands there with Ahrun around his waist. Ahrun gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ahrun blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Ahrun is trying to trip Kidal. He has hold of a leg but Kidal is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ahrun persists though and gets the takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ahrun accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ahrun stopping the sweep attempt from Kidal. Kidal bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ahrun's guard. Ahrun wants to sweep here but Kidal controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kidal sitting in guard here, content to control. Kidal wants to control from the top but Ahrun keeps moving. Kidal loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kidal is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ahrun is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidal decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ahrun with a lazy takedown attempt and Kidal counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renzo Ahrun. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kidal decides to stand back up. Ahrun shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kidal counters with a two punch combo. Kidal lands with a kick to the temple. Ahrun shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Kidal scores a takedown into full mount! Kidal looking to finish with strikes here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kidal working for a guillotine from mount but Ahrun is in no mood to give up. Ahrun has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ahrun is desperately trying to improve his position but Kidal has a good base and remains in mount. Ahrun is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ahrun is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Pooper Kidal will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Kidal shoots for a takedown but Ahrun saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kidal dives in and grabs Ahrun's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ahrun pushes down on Kidal's head and hops out. Ahrun throws a nice looking combination but Kidal bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ahrun shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kidal but Kidal pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ahrun swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kidal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kidal. Renzo Ahrun overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ahrun tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ahrun is working an open guard so Kidal takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ahrun throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kidal counters with a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kidal misses with a few strikes there.
Ahrun with a poor takedown and Kidal counters with a good, hard body kick but Ahrun shrugs it off. Kidal closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kidal is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ahrun has managed to free his arm - good work. Kidal wants to take a breather but Ahrun is having none of it. Ahrun is trying to get back to full guard. Kidal uses his free foot to push down on Ahrun's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ahrun.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ahrun tries to lock up and control but Kidal gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kidal is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ahrun has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ahrun sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Kidal trying to control from half guard but Ahrun is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kidal is working for a kimura but Ahrun is defending it quite comfortably.
Kidal wants to get back to his feet.
Ahrun pushes Kidal off and gets back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kidal shoots in for a double leg but Ahrun sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Renzo Ahrun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pooper Kidal. Ahrun scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Ahrun tries to advance to mount but Kidal denies him. Ahrun decides to stand back up. Ahrun steps back and let's Kidal get back to his feet. Kidal thows a body shot but no joy. Ahrun throws a combination that misses and Kidal counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kidal keeps control of Ahrun as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ahrun wants to get back to striking at distance but Kidal won't allow it.
Ahrun drags the fight down to the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Pooper Kidal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kidal has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
