The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a straight right.
Girl rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Girl jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Girl gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Some wild striking there from Girl.
Girl throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Girl misses with a hook.
Girl missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Nice straight punches there by Girl. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Girl.
Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Girl.
Good leg kick by Jones there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Jones connects with a looping right hand.
Jones scores with a jab to the head.
Jones ducks under a wild hook from Girl.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Girl looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones moves forwards but Girl connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Girl circles away quickly and effectively.

Girl misses with a combination
and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Girl drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Jones connects with a nice looking jab.

Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jones works to advance to full mount. Girl defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Jones wants to finish this one by submission but Girl is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jones.
Jones lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
A nice elbow there by Jones.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Girl to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Girl shrugs it off.
Girl is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.
Jones wants to control the pace but Girl is squirming around nicely.
Jones working for a submission but Girl is keeping him at bay.
Jones pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Girl thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Girl drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones!
Girl can't do much from the bottom here.

Girl is looking for a sweep.
Jones lands a few punches from side control.
Jones is working to tighten is grip on Girl's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Girl has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jones is really squeezing tight and eventually Girl passes out! Jones breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
