Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Gouveia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Andreas Schmidt has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andreas Schmidt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesus Gouveia! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gouveia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schmidt tries to avoid it but Gouveia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schmidt to the ground. Schmidt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Schmidt closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gouveia did well to prevent Schmidt getting side control. Gouveia is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Schmidt is thwarting Gouveia's attempts to control the position. Schmidt is just content to waste time from the top position. Gouveia takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gouveia looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Schmidt has picked Gouveia up and slammed him! Gouveia can't keep hold of the triangle and Schmidt manages to pass to side control! You can see the frustration on Gouveia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Gouveia regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gouveia wants to control but Schmidt is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gouveia works his way to full guard. Good work. Gouveia pulls Schmidt in close to his closed guard and prevents Schmidt from doing any damage or advancing position. Schmidt drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gouveia manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Schmidt has Gouveia in his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Schmidt looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gouveia has picked Schmidt up and slammed him! Schmidt can't keep hold of the triangle and Gouveia manages to pass to side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jesus Gouveia will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gouveia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Schmidt counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gouveia pulls Schmidt in to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jesus Gouveia. Gouveia with a lazy takedown attempt and Schmidt counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Gouveia gets full guard. Schmidt wants to control from the top but Gouveia keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schmidt being controlled here momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Schmidt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gouveia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Schmidt, into his guard. Gouveia wants to control from the top but Schmidt keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andreas Schmidt dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Schmidt fails with a takedown attempt. Gouveia has his takedown stuffed and Schmidt counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Schmidt prevents Gouveia from standing back up.
Gouveia wants to control but Schmidt is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gouveia is looking to get back to is feet but Schmidt passes into side control.
Gouveia manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's one minute gone in the round. Gouveia is looking to take a break and control but Schmidt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jesus Gouveia. Gouveia scores with a takedown into Schmidt's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Schmidt can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gouveia controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gouveia slips nicely into half guard. Gouveia uses his free foot to push down on Schmidt's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Schmidt. Gouveia content just to control the position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andreas Schmidt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gouveia trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Jesus Gouveia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gouveia has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
