Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Gunnarsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jong Man Kim! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kim changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gunnarsson tries to avoid it but Kim manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gunnarsson to the ground. Gunnarsson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gunnarsson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kim is controlling Gunnarsson's position as best he can from this difficult position. Gunnarsson is trying to control. Kim wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gunnarsson is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Kim preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kim trying to control the position.
Gunnarsson throws and elbow that misses. Kim uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gunnarsson's guard. Nice move by Kim!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kim postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gunnarsson is on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gunnarsson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kim sprawls well initially but Gunnarsson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gunnarsson is looking to advance position but Kim won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Gunnarsson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kim gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gunnarsson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Gunnarsson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kim is looking to stand up but Gunnarsson isn't so interested in that idea. Gunnarsson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kim takes the fight into the clinch. Kim looking for a takedown. Gunnarsson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kim is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Kim is pressed up against the ropes. Gunnarsson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kim down to the mat. Kim avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kim with a lazy takedown attempt and Gunnarsson counters with a left to the body. Kim shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gunnarsson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gunnarsson. Peter Gunnarsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jong Man Kim. Gunnarsson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kim keeping moving, preventing Gunnarsson from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gunnarsson with a flurry of punches that miss. Gunnarsson trying to control but Kim is working from the bottom. Kim wants to sweep here but Gunnarsson controlling him for the moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gunnarsson trying to control the position from guard on top but Kim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Gunnarsson working away. Gunnarsson just content to control the position. Gunnarsson is looking to take a break and control but Kim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gunnarsson wants to take a breather but Kim manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Gunnarsson. Gunnarsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kim swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gunnarsson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

And that's the end of the fight! Peter Gunnarsson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gunnarsson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
