Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Bakunin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buzz Jodoin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bakunin lands with a good body shot.
A big right from Jodoin misses.
Bakunin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jodoin throws a series of strikes that have Bakunin backpedaling.
Bakunin takes a jab right on the kisser.

and Jodoin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jodoin moves out of range of the body kick from Bakunin.
Bakunin loads up on a big right hand but Jodoin slips the punch.
Jodoin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jodoin lands a body shot.
Jodoin throws out a powerful jab.

and Bakunin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bakunin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bakunin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Jodoin misses with a hook.
Jodoin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bakunin.
Bakunin slaps away a takedown attempt from Jodoin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jodoin throws a big shot that misses.
Jodoin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jodoin throws a shot from downtown. Bakunin moves away and avoids it.

Bakunin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jodoin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jodoin scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bakunin wants to get back to his feet but Jodoin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bakunin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Jodoin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bakunin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bakunin tries to get out of the position.

Jodoin prevents Bakunin from getting back to his feet.
Bakunin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jodoin on the ground.
Jodoin tries to free his leg and advance position but Bakunin is retaining full guard.
Jodoin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bakunin wants to get back to his feet but Jodoin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bakunin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jodoin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bakunin is keeping the position for now.
Bakunin controls Jodoin momentarily but Jodoin frees himself.
Bakunin wants to stand and escape but Jodoin is having none of it.
Jodoin wants to control from the top but Bakunin keeps moving.

Jodoin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Jodoin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bakunin, who protects the arm well.
Jodoin is looking to take a break and control but Bakunin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jodoin is working Bakunin over with some ground and pound from side control.
You can see the frustration on Bakunin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bakunin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jodoin connects with a decent elbow.
Jodoin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Bakunin tries to escape but Jodoin is in control.

The ground and pound from Jodoin seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Bakunin prevents Jodoin from improving position.
Jodoin connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bakunin some visible discomfort.
Bakunin is looking for a sweep.

Jodoin is working to tighten is grip on Bakunin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bakunin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jodoin is really squeezing tight and eventually Bakunin passes out! Jodoin breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
