Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ralph O Briar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Briar comes to the cage accompanied by The Boys of the Old Brigade. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph O Briar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, William Stone! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Briar thows a body shot but no joy. O Briar misses the shot to the body. Stone clinches up against the cage. The referee calls for Stone to work.
Stone landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Stone lands with an overhand left. Stone tries a head kick but it misses.

O Briar will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Stone is looking to improve his position but O Briar isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stone is rocked! O Briar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Stone is still in real trouble! Can O Briar finish him? O Briar putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! O Briar swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Stone is now in O Briar's guard. A big mistake from O Briar there, giving up the dominant position! Stone seems to have recovered his senses. Stone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Stone drops back looking for a leg! O Briar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and O Briar manages to kick Stone off! Stone jumps back into O Briar's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stone has gone for a leg lock! O Briar slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stone's guard. Stone looks gassed! O Briar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stone is keeping the position for now. Stone is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
O Briar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. O Briar postures up and lands a big shot to Stone's brow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as O Briar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Stone pivots, looking for a leg kick but O Briar is out of range and Stone settles back down. O Briar cracks a nice hook into Stone's ribs. Stone attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Stone misses with a takedown and O Briar counters with a series of strikes. Stone will be more careful next time no doubt. Stone walks into a stiff left hand from O Briar. Stone is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by O Briar. O Briar checks a leg kick nicely. Some wild striking there from Stone.
Good exchange - O Briar coming out on top. Stone cracks O Briar with an open hand slap. O Briar scores with a nice head shot. Stone closes the distance but O Briar moves to the side and O Briar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stone's guard now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. O Briar passes into half guard. O Briar throws a strike but Stone avoids it easily and moves to full guard. O Briar passes into half guard. Stone tries to get to full guard but O Briar has control of the leg. Stone is trying to control but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. O Briar working Stone over with strikes. Stone looks like he's trying to stand up.
O Briar drops an elbow to the side of Stone's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ralph O Briar dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
O Briar throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Stone stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. O Briar ducks under a wild hook from Stone. O Briar connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. O Briar's corner calls for a 1-2. O Briar obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Stone misses with a body punch
and O Briar counters with a nice uppercut. Stone lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
O Briar lands a jab to the nose. Stone takes a shot right to the bread basket. O Briar throws a front kick aimed at Stone's knee but Stone avoids it well. O Briar scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Stone misses with a double jab
and O Briar counters with a shoot takedown. Stone fights it but they end up in guard. O Briar stopping the sweep attempt from Stone. O Briar advances to half guard. O Briar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stone is breathing heavily. O Briar seems to be working for a kimura but Stone defends the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Briar passes to full mount! O Briar working Stone over with strikes here. Stone wants to control but O Briar is having none of it. Stone really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
