Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mac Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Coon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Coon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mac Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Justin Coon!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen throws a hook but Coon avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Coon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Coon on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Hansen missing with a left hand there. Coon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Coon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hansen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hansen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hansen is looking to land body kicks.
Coon misses with a takedown
and Hansen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coon's guard.
Coon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hansen wants to pass the guard but Coon is keeping the position.
Hansen throws a strike but Coon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hansen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Coon stands up from Hansen's guard - Coon perhaps looking for a knockout.

and Hansen counters with a single leg into guard. Coon didn't expect that.
Hansen postures up in Coon's guard and throws a big left but Coon blocks it.

Coon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hansen avoids it really well and circles away.

Hansen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Hansen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Coon.

Coon takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Coon keeps Hansen under control for a moment.
You can see the frustration on Coon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Coon stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hansen.

and Hansen counters with a shoot takedown. Coon fights it but they end up in guard.

Coon misses with a head shot. Hansen uses the momentum to regain guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Hansen misses with a takedown attempt - Coon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hansen drops his hands momentarily and Coon takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

and Coon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hansen is pressed up against the cage. Coon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hansen down to the mat. Hansen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Both fighters circling a little - Hansen finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Hansen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Coon counters with a series of strikes. Hansen will be more careful next time no doubt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hansen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
