Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hugh gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rodstrong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hugh controls Rodstrong momentarily but Rodstrong frees himself.
Hugh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rodstrong tries to kick Hugh off but Hugh keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rodstrong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hugh on the ground.
Hugh stands up and beckons Rodstrong to join him on the feet.
Rodstrong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rodstrong is breathing heavily.
Hugh is pressing down on Rodstrong's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hugh working for a triangle but Rodstrong defends it easily.

Rodstrong takes a decent strike to the side of the head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rodstrong's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Rodstrong throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodstrong wants to pass the guard but Hugh is keeping the position.
Rodstrong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hugh works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rodstrong decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hugh, up you get!
Rodstrong looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hugh!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodstrong throwing strikes here but Hugh is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Hugh avoids a series of strikes thrown by Rodstrong.
Rodstrong jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hugh is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hugh and Rodstrong has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hugh is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Rodstrong is looking to advance position but Hugh won't allow it.
Hugh works his way to full guard. Good work.

Hugh manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hugh controlling the pace for now.
Rodstrong really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hugh landing strikes from the mount and Rodstrong is in trouble!

Hugh working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rodstrong turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Hugh off and cradles Rodstrong's limp body as Hugh celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jacob Hugh!
