Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaw comes to the cage accompanied by Body Head Bangerz - Can't Be Touched. Benny Phillips will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Shaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Benny Phillips! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw throws a right hand that Phillips ducks under and follows up with a left that Phillips also avoids with ease. Phillips misses with a hook. Shaw ducked under it nicely. Shaw tries to land a leg kick but Phillips saw it coming and moves away.
Phillips misses with a wild body shot. Shaw dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Phillips throws a low kick but Shaw avoids it. Shaw is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Shaw moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Shaw throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Phillips was covering up waiting for the punch and Shaw finishes the takedown easily into guard. Shaw working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Shaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phillips swivels though and keeps the full guard. Phillips is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Phillips wants to control the position but Shaw says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Phillips looks gassed! Shaw prevents Phillips from improving his position. Shaw performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Phillips sees it coming and defends easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shaw looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Phillips is trying to stand back up but Shaw is controlling him
Shaw prevents Phillips from improving his position. Phillips avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Shaw. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shaw connects with a nice short shot to Phillips's temple. Shaw winds up and cracks Phillips with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Phillips is looking to control Shaw's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Phillips avoid being mounted? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shaw stops Phillips from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Shaw trying to control from half guard but Phillips is working away.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Phillips motions for Shaw to come forward. Phillips throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. An inside leg kick from Phillips misses. Shaw scores a takedown into full mount! Phillips tries to lock up and control but Shaw gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Shaw in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
A nice elbow there by Shaw. Shaw lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Shaw is in the full mount, landing strikes. Shaw fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Phillips is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw lands a nice shot to the head. Shaw working away from the top, dropping strikes. Phillips wants to control but Shaw is having none of it. Shaw unloading with bombs! Shaw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shaw working the ground and pound effectively.
Phillips is trying desperately to improve position. Shaw breaks from Phillips's wrist control and lands an elbow. Shaw pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Phillips is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Phillips can do anything to dispel that myth. Phillips is bucking up trying to escape but Shaw cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Phillips is desperately trying to improve his position but Shaw has a good base and remains in mount. Shaw can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Phillips is looking to escape. Phillips can't escape the position.
Phillips takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Shaw tries to control but Phillips wriggling away. Phillips tries to hold on but Shaw postures up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shaw lands with some strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Shaw dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Phillips lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shaw circles away quickly and effectively. Shaw throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Phillips, as that shot connected.
Phillips lands with a good body shot. Phillips ducks under a wild hook from Shaw. Don Shaw is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Shaw gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A head punch on the inside from Shaw fails to land. Shaw looking for a takedown. Phillips wants to get back to striking at distance but Shaw won't allow it.

Phillips is trying to break the clinch but Shaw is controlling him. Phillips blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shaw. Shaw is working for takedown but Phillips is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Shaw. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shaw taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. Phillips tries to break free but Shaw pushes him back against the cage. Shaw is looking to control Phillips's arms but Phillips gets an underhook and turns him. Now Shaw has his back to the cage. Shaw stops a takedown attempt from Phillips.
Shaw makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Shaw just leaning against Phillips, taking a breather. Shaw wants a takedown but no success here.
Shaw is pressed up against the cage. Phillips has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shaw down to the mat. Shaw avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Good standup being displayed there by Phillips as he connects with a hook. Shaw takes one to the chin there. A low kick from Phillips misses and Shaw counters with a good low kick that Phillips was not able to check. Phillips shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Phillips defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shaw. A combination from Phillips does no damage. Phillips tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Phillips scores with a punch to the head. Shaw shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Phillips scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shaw doesn't seem bothered though. Phillips lands a right hook to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw drops back looking for a leg! Phillips is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Phillips manages to kick Shaw off! Shaw jumps back into Phillips's guard. Phillips looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shaw is one step ahead there. Phillips can't keep his opponent in guard - Shaw advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shaw connects with a nice short shot to Phillips's temple. Phillips tries to get to full guard but Shaw has control of the leg. Shaw not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Don Shaw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Shaw sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Phillips defending well though. Phillips is looking to escape. Phillips trying to control from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Shaw shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Phillips but Phillips pushes him off and we're back to square one. Phillips scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Phillips throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nice uppercut lands for Shaw. That snapped Phillips's head back.
Shaw feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. That was a close second round but I would say that Don Shaw will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Shaw is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Shaw feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Shaw stops Phillips from standing up. Phillips is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Phillips wants to sweep but no luck. Shaw working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Phillips not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Shaw throws a right and a left that both miss. Shaw takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Shaw catches Phillips with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! A lazy left from Phillips finds it's target. Shaw slips under a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from Phillips. Shaw does a little dance to reset his feet. Phillips lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shaw circles away quickly and effectively. Shaw digs a good hook to Phillips's body.

Shaw uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Phillips. Shaw connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Phillips momentarily.
