Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robin Padilla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Richardson! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Padilla misses with a wild body shot. A big left from Padilla misses. Padilla dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Padilla thows a body shot but no joy. A swing and a miss from Padilla. Richardson shoots in and bounces Padilla off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Richardson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Richardson lands a couple of digs. Richardson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Richardson is looking to work some ground and pound but Padilla has wrist control. Richardson works over Padilla with some ground and pound from guard. Richardson passes Padilla's left leg - he's now in half guard. Padilla is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Richardson working over Padilla with some ground and pound. Padilla looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Padilla has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Richardson is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Richardson prevents Padilla from improving his position. Padilla trying to control here.
Richardson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Richardson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Richardson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Richardson lands a nice shot to the head. Richardson lands a big shot there that rocks Padilla but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Richardson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Padilla looks a forlorn figure.
Richardson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Padilla can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

It looks like Robin Padilla has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Padilla takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Richardson's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
