Eminem as his entrance music. Phillip Luis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nate Diaz's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phillip Luis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Diaz! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Diaz's half guard. Diaz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Luis keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Luis wants to work for an arm triangle but Diaz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Luis stalling. Luis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Diaz for as long as he can get away with. Luis passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Diaz! Luis controlling the position easily from mount.

and Luis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Diaz's guard. Diaz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Luis controls the pace.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Phillip Luis.
Luis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Diaz to the mat! Diaz manages to get full guard. Luis content to stall in guard here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Diaz keeping full guard, as Luis tries to pass. Luis is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Luis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Diaz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Diaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Luis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Luis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Luis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diaz wants to control but Luis postures up. Phillip Luis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Diaz seems a little lost for a moment, as Luis dominates the positioning.
Luis decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Luis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Diaz was covering up waiting for the punch and Luis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Luis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Diaz throws a sloppy head kick
and Luis counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Diaz!

Diaz tries to hold on but Luis pushes him away. Luis lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Luis content just to control the position here. Diaz is bucking up trying to escape but Luis cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Diaz wants to control but Luis is having none of it.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Diaz is working to get back to half guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Luis connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Diaz to escape the position.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Diaz wants to try and get back to his feet. Luis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around? Luis with a couple of short strikes. Luis lands a big shot there that rocks Diaz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Luis has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Diaz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Diaz has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Diaz wants to hold on but Luis pushes him away. Diaz is desperately trying to improve his position but Luis has a good base and remains in mount. Luis landing strikes from the mount. Luis raining down shots from the mount! Diaz is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Luis is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Diaz has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Diaz tries to reverse the position but Luis maintains control. Nate Diaz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Phillip Luis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Diaz is arching his back trying to strike from the bottom but Luis turns him over and now has his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Phillip Luis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Luis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
