Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Velvet Jones!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with an uppercut.
Jones takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jones slips under a jab.
Welch pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Welch scores with a decent looking hook.
Jones throws a series of punches but Welch moves out of range.
Jones cracks Welch with a right hand to the side of the head.
Welch throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones.
Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jones slips a straight right by Welch.
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Welch to score with a decent uppercut.
Welch cracks Jones with a right hand to the side of the head.

Welch throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily.
Welch takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Jones throws a shot from downtown. Welch moves away and avoids it.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
Jones misses with an uppercut. Welch saw that one coming.
Jones ducks under a wild hook from Welch.
Welch might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Welch.
Welch throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Welch finds it's way round the side to connect with Jones's head.

Bryan Welch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A looping hook to the body misses from Welch. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Jones counters with a crisp one two that drops Welch! Jones thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Welch to his feet! Welch is in big trouble!
Welch is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Welch drops his hands momentarily. Jones doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Welch staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Welch doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Velvet Jones!
