The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but MasterG swivels and escapes.
MasterG defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johnson is defended easily by MasterG.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vance Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Johnson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and MasterG defends it well.
MasterG is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

MasterG is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back!

MasterG has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Johnson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

MasterG has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Johnson stands up over MasterG, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson cracks MasterG with a solid left hand.

MasterG is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johnson defends well.
Johnson connects with a couple of short punches.

Johnson passes MasterG's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
MasterG really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, MasterG has worked his arm free - good work by MasterG!
MasterG is not content to let Johnson control the position.
Johnson advances to full mount.
MasterG is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson wants to control the pace but MasterG is squirming around nicely.
