Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Enzo Cordero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Smith!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith defending well as Cordero loads up on a big left hand.
Cordero misses with a body shot.
Smith takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cordero tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cordero to the ground. Cordero escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cordero thuds a left hand into Smith's body.
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cordero but Cordero pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Enzo Cordero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Smith.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cordero drops Smith with a beautiful combination! Smith stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cordero is looking for the KO!
Smith is rocked!
It looks like Mike Smith has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cordero closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Smith out cold! Smith corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
