The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Penn.
Gold will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A slow jab from Penn misses its intended target.
Penn thows a body shot but no joy.
Penn throws a chopping leg kick but Gold manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Penn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Penn wants it to stay on the feet.
Penn throws the kick towards the body but Gold avoids it.
Penn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Penn misses with an attempted mid kick.
Gold fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Penn avoids it really well and circles away.
DJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Platinum Gold.

Gold shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Penn but Penn pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gold moves away from the strike by Penn.
Gold closes the distance and clinches up with Penn, looking for a takedown. Gold pushes Penn against the cage but Penn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gold takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Penn throws a head kick that misses.
Gold takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Penn throws a series of punches but Gold moves out of range.
Penn connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Gold misses with a takedown attempt - Penn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Penn fails to land with a series of punches.
Penn throws a shot from downtown. Gold moves away and avoids it.

Gold wants to clinch.
Penn misses with a kick to the body.
Gold slips a jab and a cross from Penn.

Penn circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Gold to the canvas! Gold doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Penn keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
