The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bagwell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Garcia. Nice shot by Bagwell. Garcia avoids the body shot from Bagwell.
Bagwell misses with a takedown attempt - Garcia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Garcia throws a big shot that misses. Garcia jabbing away but nothing is landing. Bagwell connects with a body shot. Rolando Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcia throws a jab when Bagwell was well out of range. Garcia misses with a looping left. Garcia throws a hook to the side of Bagwell's head but Bagwell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bagwell slips a jab from Garcia. Bagwell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Garcia.
Garcia throws a hook but Bagwell blocks it. Garcia shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garcia is thwarting Bagwell's attempts to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bagwell is looking for a sweep. Garcia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bagwell is working hard here to advance position. Bagwell looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bagwell tries to roll over but Garcia keeps him under control. Garcia has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bagwell wants to control but Garcia is having none of it. Garcia thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bagwell tries to hold on but Garcia postures up. Garcia prevents Bagwell from getting the reversal.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Garcia goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bagwell is on top in guard.
Bagwell is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Garcia has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bagwell is looking to defend but Garcia has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bagwell! Garcia pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bagwell taps out and this one is all over!
