Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Pendergast! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aku Tokugawa! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pendergast scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tokugawa in his tracks. Pendergast cracks Tokugawa with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Tokugawa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tokugawa tries to clinch up but Pendergast circles away and keeps his distance. Pendergast swinging wildly here.
Tokugawa misses with an uppercut. Pendergast throws a jab when Tokugawa was well out of range. No joy there for Tokugawa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tokugawa is looking to clinch but Pendergast is avoiding it.

Aku Tokugawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tokugawa throws a combination that misses and Tokugawa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Tokugawa just misses with a punch to the body.

Pendergast tries to bum rush Tokugawa with a series of wild strikes but Tokugawa uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tokugawa misses with a combination
and Pendergast counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Tokugawa throws a right and a left that Pendergast avoids nicely. Tokugawa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pendergast circles away quickly and effectively. Pendergast avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pendergast paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pendergast throws a shot to the body.
Tokugawa looks gassed! Tokugawa is looking to clinch but Pendergast is avoiding it.
Tokugawa takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Pendergast cracks Tokugawa with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Pendergast has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Tokugawa to stand back up!
Tokugawa is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tokugawa takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Pendergast swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Tokugawa. Tokugawa is still on wobbly legs! Can Pendergast finish him? Tokugawa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tokugawa seems to have recovered his senses. Pendergast punishes Tokugawa's body with a nice straight punch. Pendergast keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Tokugawa closes the distance and clinches. Pendergast misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Tokugawa throws a knee to the head but misses.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Tokugawa. Pendergast tries to stall but Tokugawa uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Pendergast is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pendergast has a couple of punches blocked by Tokugawa.
Pendergast doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Tokugawa misses with a knee to the head. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pendergast. A short uppercut from Pendergast. Tokugawa using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pendergast has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Tokugawa blocks a body shot from Pendergast. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pendergast is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Pendergast takes a knee right on the jaw!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pendergast scores with a jab. Tokugawa acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Tokugawa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pendergast counters with a right hand to the body. Tokugawa closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Pendergast lands a left and a right that send Tokugawa crashing to the mat, dazed. Pendergast thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pendergast Rushes Tokugawa and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Tokugawa is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Pendergast Piles on the pressure and Tokugawa crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
