1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thales Leites! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zeynalabdinov gets the takedown into side control. Zeynalabdinov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Leites keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Leites is trying to control Zeynalabdinov's posture but Zeynalabdinov avoids it. Leites is looking to regain half guard here but Zeynalabdinov keeps moving and retains side control. Leites seems a little lost for a moment, as Zeynalabdinov dominates the positioning. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zeynalabdinov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Leites, who protects the arm well. Leites parries the strikes from Zeynalabdinov easily there. Zeynalabdinov is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Leites to escape.
Leites looks gassed! Zeynalabdinov grinds an elbow into Leites's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zeynalabdinov decides to stand back up. Zeynalabdinov gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Leites manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Zeynalabdinov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Zeynalabdinov throwing strikes but missing. Zeynalabdinov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Zeynalabdinov sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zeynalabdinov missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Zeynalabdinov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Zeynalabdinov tries to clinch but Leites moves out of range. Zeynalabdinov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Zeynalabdinov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Leites did well to prevent Zeynalabdinov getting side control. Zeynalabdinov passes to full mount! Zeynalabdinov is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Zeynalabdinov!
