Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Claydon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor Valhall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thor Valhall! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valhall shoots for a double leg takedown but Claydon sprawls well. He's pushed Valhall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Valhall fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Valhall fails with a takedown attempt. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Claydon. Claydon has his takedown stuffed and Valhall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Claydon's guard. Valhall trying to control but Claydon is working from the bottom.

Claydon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Claydon moves into full mount! Valhall won't be happy about that! Claydon lands a big elbow. Claydon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Claydon is landing with some decent strikes but Valhall is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Mark Claydon just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Valhall clinches but Claydon breaks the clinch and Claydon counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Valhall! Claydon controlling the pace for now. Claydon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Claydon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Valhall for as long as he can get away with.
