Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gonzala Kerrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Weis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kerrison kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is "The Unforgiven III"-Metallica. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gonzala Kerrison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steven Weis! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerrison avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kerrison has a takedown stuffed. Weis tries to clinch up but Kerrison circles away and keeps his distance. Weis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Weis blocks the body kick.
Kerrison tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Weis swivels and escapes. A head kick misses from Weis. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kerrison. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gonzala Kerrison. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Kerrison with that takedown attempt. Weis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kerrison closes the distance and clinches up with Weis, looking for a takedown. Kerrison pushes Weis against the cage but Weis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kerrison tries for a takedown but Weis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kerrison is breathing heavily. Weis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Weis clinches up with Kerrison and pushes him back against the cage. Weis with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. A knee to the head by Weis.

Weis digs a right hand underneath Kerrison's ribcage. Kerrison let out a lung full of air as it connected. Weis manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kerrison tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Weis just stands there and leans against the cage. Weis tries a knee to the head but Kerrison blocks it.
Kerrison breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kerrison darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Weis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kerrison. Kerrison sitting and controlling from the half guard. Weis is not content to let Kerrison control the position. Kerrison sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Weis defending well though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerrison tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Weis. Weis is not content to let Kerrison control the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kerrison tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Weis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Weis using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kerrison has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Weis working some nice short punches in the clinch. Weis has Kerrison pushed against the cage. The crowd are getting on Weis's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Kerrison has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Weis uses from the top position. Kerrison wants to sweep but no luck. Kerrison had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Weis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kerrison Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Weis's back instead. Kerrison thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Weis turns into Kerrison and is now in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steven Weis dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kerrison darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Weis has one foot on Kerrison's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Kerrison shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Weis but Weis pushes him off and we're back to square one. Weis gets a clinch. A short uppercut from Weis. Weis lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Weis misses with a knee to the head. Weis landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Kerrison persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Kerrison trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Weis keeping moving, preventing Kerrison from controlling successfully. Kerrison gets to his feet - Weis follows without any prompting. Weis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kerrison circles away from the clinch attempt and Kerrison counters with a shoot takedown. Weis fights it but they end up in guard. Kerrison trying to control but Weis is working from the bottom. Weis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kerrison is one step ahead there. Kerrison scoring with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weis keeping moving, preventing Kerrison from controlling successfully. Kerrison won't allow Weis to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kerrison trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kerrison with a flurry of punches that miss. Kerrison trying to move into half guard but instead Weis has managed to sweep! Weis preventing the sweep. Kerrison has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Weis has passed into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kerrison to his feet. Kerrison cracks Weis with a good jab. Gonzala Kerrison dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Weis clinches but Kerrison breaks the clinch and Kerrison counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Weis's guard now. Weis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Weis controlling the position. Kerrison throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Weis works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kerrison wants to get up but he can't break Weis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kerrison drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Weis dives on top into guard. Weis gets to his feet. Kerrison looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Weis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kerrison clinches with his opponent.

Kerrison jumps guard and drags Weis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Kerrison keeping moving, preventing Weis from controlling successfully. Kerrison bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Weis's guard.
