Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pasha Tolstoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Conway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaun Conway is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pasha Tolstoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaun Conway!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Conway darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Conway throwing shots but Tolstoy is blocking nicely.
Tolstoy trying to hold on to Conway's head to control him but Conway postures up.
Conway has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tolstoy is looking to improve his position.
Conway tries to pass to full mount but Tolstoy defends it.
Tolstoy wants to control but Conway is keeping busy.
Conway lands with a punch from half guard.
Conway is pressing down on Tolstoy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tolstoy is holding on for now.

Conway wants to pass the guard but Tolstoy is keeping the position.

Conway decides to stand and escape the position.
Conway thuds his right hand into Tolstoy's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Conway shoots in for a takedown but Tolstoy shows good takedown defense.

Tolstoy takes one to the chin there.
Conway fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Conway avoids the head kick by Tolstoy.

Conway closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tolstoy is looking for a sweep.
Tolstoy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Tolstoy is trying to maintain the position but Conway is very close to passing his half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Conway connects with a nice short shot to Tolstoy's temple.

Conway stands and steps away. Tolstoy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Conway shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Conway was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Tolstoy is trying to escape the mount.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Conway misses with a few strikes there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Conway.

Conway shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tolstoy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Conway throws a big right hand that misses.
Tolstoy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Tolstoy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Conway is one step ahead there.

Conway thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Tolstoy forces Conway back against the cage and clinches.

Conway has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tolstoy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Tolstoy is trying to get back to his feet but Conway has full control of the position and if anything, Tolstoy has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Tolstoy manages to reverse the position and now he's in Conway's guard. Nice work there by Tolstoy.
Conway wants to stand up but Tolstoy is controlling him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Pasha Tolstoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Conway is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tolstoy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Tolstoy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Conway sprawls well initially but Tolstoy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Tolstoy stops Conway from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tolstoy decides to return to a standing position.
Conway stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Tolstoy.
Tolstoy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Conway sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tolstoy somewhat.

Conway drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaun Conway showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Tolstoy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Conway thows a huge punch but Tolstoy dodges it nicely.
Conway looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tolstoy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Conway stands up and beckons Tolstoy to join him on the feet.
Tolstoy throws a sloppy head kick and Conway moves out of range easily.
Conway looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Conway is looking to reverse the position.

Conway is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Tolstoy is staying active.

Tolstoy tries to move into full mount but can't pass Conway's legs.
Conway is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tolstoy's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Tolstoy seems to be working for a kimura but Conway defends the submission attempt.

Conway ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Conway no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Tolstoy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Tolstoy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Conway's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Conway is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Shaun Conway is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Conway has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
