1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Veta Too! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harrison keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Too closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Too lands a decent elbow from side control. Harrison prevents Too from improving position. Harrison regains half guard. Harrison looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Harrison is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Too pulls his head out easily. Too trying to pass the guard but Harrison defending well. Harrison tries to get to full guard but Too has control of the leg. Too looks to land a strike but Harrison avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Too changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Harrison looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Too creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Harrison sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Too working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Harrison pushes down on Too's leg and manages to get into half guard. Too looks like he's trying to stand up.
Harrison is looking to take a break and control but Too is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Too shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Harrison but Harrison pushes him off and we're back to square one. Harrison gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Too to score an easy takedown into full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Too trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Veta Too dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Too has a takedown stuffed. Too fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harrison avoids it really well and circles away. Nice takedown defense from Harrison. No joy for Too on that attempt.
