Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Butler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luis Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butler shoots in for a double leg but Pierre sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Butler looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Pierre wants to clinch.
Pierre dives in and grabs Butler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Butler pushes down on Pierre's head and hops out.
Butler misses with a jab, cross combination.

and Pierre counters with a single leg into guard. Butler didn't expect that.
Pierre wants to pass the guard but Butler is keeping the position.
Pierre must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Butler is squirming around, avoiding Pierre's attempts to control the action.

Pierre postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Butler looks a forlorn figure.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pierre pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Pierre looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pierre escapes and gets back to his feet.
Pierre looks for the body kick but Butler saw that one coming.
Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Butler paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Butler wants to clinch but Pierre slips to the side
and Pierre counters with a shoot takedown. Butler fights it but they end up in guard.
Pierre gets to his feet. Butler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Pierre is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Butler.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pierre is looking for a kimura here.
Butler tries to get to full guard but Pierre has control of the leg.
Pierre wants to control but Butler is keeping him busy.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pierre connects with a nice short shot to Butler's temple.
Pierre passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Butler!
BOOM! Pierre connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Butler sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Butler is trying to control but Pierre manages to pass to mount!

Pierre is hanging on to Butler's back as he tries to escape.
Pierre tries to keep control of the position but Butler is staying busy.

Luis Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Butler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Pierre looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pierre throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Butler.
Butler throws a shot from downtown. Pierre moves away and avoids it.
Butler gets caught flat footed, as Pierre shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pierre trying to control but Butler is working from the bottom.
Butler is pulling down on Pierre's head to control his posture.
Pierre won't allow Butler to sweep him here.
Butler has his foot on Pierre's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pierre works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pierre passes into half guard.

Butler wants to control but Pierre is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Pierre wants to free his trapped foot but Butler is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Butler wants to improve his position but Pierre is controlling well.
Pierre wants to pass to mount but Butler is defending the position.
Butler wants to get back to full guard but Pierre has passed into side control.
Butler is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Butler tries to improve his position but instead Pierre has taken his back!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Pierre controlling the positon.
Let's hope that Pierre has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pierre doesn't have the hooks in and Butler manages to turn into his guard.
Pierre is looking to stand up but Butler isn't so interested in that idea.
Butler distracts Pierre with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Pierre is looking to control Butler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pierre avoid being mounted?
Butler working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Butler lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Butler lands a big shot there that rocks Pierre but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Pierre has decided that throwing punches whilst being mounted is the best he can manage just now.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to Luis Pierre.
Well Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
