The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Machado goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Machado throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wayne's waist but Wayne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Machado off to one side.

Machado tries to pull guard but Wayne holds him up against the cage and eventually Machado drops back down to his feet.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wayne is looking to control Machado's arms but Machado gets an underhook and turns him. Now Wayne has his back to the cage.

Machado has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wayne is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Machado.
