Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryu Nakamura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Johnson! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakamura fails to land with a series of punches.
Nakamura throws a lazy right hand but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Johnson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

It looks like Paul Johnson has been cut. Nakamura will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nakamura throws a right and a left that both miss. Nakamura lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Johnson is rocked!
Nakamura cracks Johnson with an uppercut from hell and Johnson crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Nakamura's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Johnson is still in real trouble! Can Nakamura finish him? Nakamura lands a couple of digs.
Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nakamura is aware though and is defending well. Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nakamura controls the pace. Johnson has momentary wrist control but Nakamura slips an elbow through the middle.
Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nakamura can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Johnson seems to have recovered his senses. Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura is stalling in the full guard. Nakamura works over Johnson with some ground and pound from guard.
Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nakamura is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nakamura stands and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Nakamura in side control, just content to control the action for now. Nakamura trying to control the position but Johnson is working away.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakamura lands a decent elbow from side control. Johnson tries to buck Nakamura off but Nakamura is having none of it. Johnson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Johnson taking a bit of punishment here - Nakamura scoring with strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nakamura working the ground and pound. Johnson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Nakamura thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Nakamura landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Johnson actively working from the bottom here. Johnson looks gassed! Nakamura content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nakamura looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Nakamura is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nakamura seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryu Nakamura. Nakamura misses with a jab, cross combination.

Nakamura throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease. Nakamura misses with a double jab.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryu Nakamura dominated that round. The cut man is working on Paul Johnson's cut. That's time! Nakamura's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nakamura throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Nakamura scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nakamura circles away. Ryu Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Nakamura sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ryu Nakamura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Johnson. Nakamura swinging wildly here.
Nakamura is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Nakamura which made him look bad. Johnson is breathing heavily. Nakamura tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura lands with a right that hurts Johnson. Johnson looks to clinch but Nakamura throws a short knee that drops Johnson. This one is all over!
