Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gary Player (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Player's entrance music is Bettie Grind - I'm Floatin'. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morton wants to slow Player down by chopping away at his legs.
Morton tries to clinch there but Player circles away.

Player throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Morton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Player throws out the jab.
Horrible takedown by Morton or perhaps it was just good defense by Player which made him look bad.
Player lands a two punch combo.
Morton shoots in but no luck this time.
Gary Player has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Morton.
Morton lands with an uppercut that bounces Player off the cage and back into rage.
Morton looks for a takedown but Player sprawls well.
Morton moves out of range of the strikes.
Player fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Morton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Morton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Player tries to avoid it but Morton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Player to the ground. Player escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mark Morton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morton looks gassed!

Player connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Morton's hands.

Player fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Player stuns Morton with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Morton takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Player throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Morton on the side of the head.
Player lands with a good body shot.
Player fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Nice body punch from Player.
Morton takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Morton avoids a punch combination nicely.
Player works the jab nicely.
Player connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Morton dives in and grabs Player's left leg, looking for a takedown. Player pushes down on Morton's head and hops out.
Player cracks Morton with a right hand to the side of the head.
Player moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Morton is rocked!
Player lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Morton is still on wobbly legs! Can Player finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Player slips a straight right by Morton.
Player connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Morton tumbling to the canvas! Player pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Morton was done - good stoppage!
