Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victor Hugo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexis Tranchemontagne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Tranchemontagne's choice of entrance music: The Frog Song. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Victor Hugo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexis Tranchemontagne!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Tranchemontagne.
Hugo keeps the fight on the outside.
Tranchemontagne tries to clinch up.
Tranchemontagne looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hugo is fending him off so far but Tranchemontagne persists. Nope, Hugo circles away and we're back to standing.

Hugo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hugo prevents Tranchemontagne from standing back up.
Hugo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Tranchemontagne tries to roll over but Hugo keeps him under control.
Hugo content to control rather than advance.
Tranchemontagne wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hugo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hugo moves nicely into side control.

Hugo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hugo content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Tranchemontagne is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hugo is controlling him well.
Tranchemontagne is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Hugo controls the position from side control.
Hugo has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hugo pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Hugo stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Tranchemontagne looks gassed!
Hugo takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Alexis Tranchemontagne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hugo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Tranchemontagne throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Hugo decides to stand back up. Hugo steps back and let's Tranchemontagne get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hugo moves into range and clinches up with Tranchemontagne.
Tranchemontagne is working for takedown but Hugo is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hugo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Tranchemontagne is trying to keep an underhook but Hugo manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Hugo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tranchemontagne has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hugo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tranchemontagne is just riding it out for now. Hugo eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tranchemontagne moves in looking to clinch but Hugo pushes him off.

and Hugo counters with a single leg into guard. Tranchemontagne didn't expect that.
Tranchemontagne looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Tranchemontagne working for a triangle but Hugo defends it easily.
Hugo postures up and lands a big shot to Tranchemontagne's brow.
Hugo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hugo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Tranchemontagne wants to stand up but Hugo is controlling him.
Hugo lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tranchemontagne is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hugo stays in close to Tranchemontagne's body and controls the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hugo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Tranchemontagne tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Hugo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Tranchemontagne is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hugo controls from within his opponent's guard.

Hugo stands and steps away. Tranchemontagne gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Tranchemontagne lands a body shot.
Tranchemontagne tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Hugo counters with a shoot takedown. Tranchemontagne fights it but they end up in guard.
Hugo stays in close to Tranchemontagne's body and controls the position.

Tranchemontagne thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Tranchemontagne is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hugo is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Victor Hugo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hugo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hugo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tranchemontagne has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hugo has managed to get both his arms back between Tranchemontagne's legs - danger averted.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Tranchemontagne tries to clinch up.
Hugo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tranchemontagne can do to turn this around?
Hugo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hugo throws a series of punches but Tranchemontagne avoids them all with ease.
Hugo shoots in but no luck this time.
Tranchemontagne throws a nice head kick!
Tranchemontagne tries to close the distance and clinch but Hugo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hugo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Tranchemontagne really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hugo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
