The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith wants to clinch.
Smith connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Blinovs throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Blinovs finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Smith controls Blinovs momentarily but Blinovs frees himself.
Smith on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Smith tries to get out of the position.
Blinovs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Blinovs looking to sit in guard and control but Smith gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Blinovs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blinovs wants to sweep but no luck.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Blinovs is proving hard to escape from.

Blinovs is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Smith has his hands clasped together but Blinovs extends an breaks Smith's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Blinovs.
