The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nerdcok shoots in looking for a takedown. Stepanov tries to sprawl out of it but Nerdcok keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stepanov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nerdcok has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Leroy Nerdcok has been cut.
Nerdcok closes the distance and clinches up with Stepanov, looking for a takedown. Nerdcok pushes Stepanov against the cage but Stepanov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Stepanov stalks Nerdcok and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nerdcok's face. Nerdcok staggers backwards, shaken.
Stepanov slaps away a takedown attempt from Nerdcok, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leroy Nerdcok. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nerdcok swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Stepanov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nerdcok is controlling him.

Nerdcok postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stepanov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nerdcok, into his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nerdcok shoots for a double leg takedown but Stepanov sprawls well. He's pushed Nerdcok's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nerdcok is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Stepanov rolls with it to try and escape but Nerdcok cranks on the arm and Stepanov is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
