Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevin Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Johnson! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Walker misses its intended target. Johnson misses with a hook. Walker ducked under it nicely. Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Walker avoids it really well and circles away. Walker looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely. Johnson takes one to the chin there. A jab from Johnson finds it's way through Walker's defenses. Walker misses with a straight right. Nice uppercut lands for Walker. That snapped Johnson's head back.
Walker pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Johnson slips under a jab. Walker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Walker avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Walker misses with a body shot.
Nice shot lands for Johnson. Walker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A swing and a miss from Walker. Walker misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming. Johnson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Johnson connects with a nice looking jab.
Walker throws a lazy right hand but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Walker scores with a nice strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Walker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Walker wants it to stay on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson lunges at Walker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Walker's hand. Good shot there by Walker. Walker connects with a single shot there. Walker throws the left hand but Johnson avoids the punch easily. Nice defenses there by Johnson. Johnson throws a body punch but Walker moves out of range. Walker is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Johnson missing with a left hand there. Walker was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Walker throws a hook but Johnson avoids it easily. Johnson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Walker momentarily.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Johnson slips under a jab from Walker. Johnson slips under a jab. Johnson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker misses the body punch enabling Johnson to counter with a crisp jab.
Walker is rocked! Johnson drops Walker with a big left hand! Walker is injured, injured bad! Johnson jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
