Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ackeem Bailey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Jaa! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jaa keeps the fight on the outside. Bailey tries to clinch but Jaa is having none of it. Jaa paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Good exchange - Bailey coming out on top. Bailey throws an overhand right that lands on Jaa's shoulder, as Jaa tries to avoid the shot. Bailey cracks a nice hook into Jaa's ribs. Jaa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bailey manages to avoid it. Bailey throws a hook to the side of Jaa's head but Jaa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bailey lands a left and a right that send Jaa crashing to the mat, dazed. Bailey thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice defenses there by Jaa. Good standup being displayed there by Bailey as he connects with a hook. A shot to the liver by Bailey. Beautiful body shot. Jaa looks gassed! Jaa missing with a left hand there. Bailey was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A big right from Bailey misses. Jaa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bailey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jaa manages to avoid it. Jaa staying out of range there. Bailey connects with a nice looking jab.
Jaa tries to clinch but Bailey is having none of it. Jaa throws a right and a left that both miss. Jaa moves into the clinch. Bailey lands with a left to the head.

Bailey works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Bailey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jaa can do anything to dispel that myth. Bailey thows a big elbow that misses. Jaa keeping moving, preventing Bailey from controlling successfully. Bailey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jaa wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Bailey has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jaa is proving hard to escape from. Bailey trying to control but Jaa is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jaa fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jaa. A big left from Bailey misses. Ackeem Bailey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bailey misses the body punch and Jaa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jaa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bailey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jaa was well out of range. Poor timing from Bailey. Bailey ducks under a wild hook from Jaa. A punch combination from Jaa misses. A punch combination from Bailey misses. Bailey connects with a crisp jab. Nice jab there from Jaa. Jaa rushes Bailey and presses him up against the cage. Jaa misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bailey digs a right hand into Jaa's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Jaa's gas tank. Nice elbow from Jaa. Jaa is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ackeem Bailey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jaa missing with knees to the body.
Jaa is looking to control Bailey's arms but Bailey gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jaa has his back to the cage. Bailey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bailey misses with an uppercut. Bailey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jaa moves away. Bailey tries to clinch up and Jaa counters with a solid body kick. Jaa throws a looping overhand right but Bailey ducks down to avoid it. Jaa doesn't manage to clinch there - Bailey circles away.
Jaa goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Bailey throws a jab when Jaa was well out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jaa slips a jab and a cross from Bailey.
A shot to the liver by Bailey. Beautiful body shot. Jaa works over Bailey's head and body with a nice combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jaa throws a head kick but Bailey moves out of range.
Jaa throws out a token jab with nothing on it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ackeem Bailey dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bailey swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jaa throws a head kick but Bailey moves out of range.
Bailey blocks a jab. Ackeem Bailey is winning the standup battle so far. Bailey lands a slapping body shot.

Bailey throws out a loose jab but Jaa uses good head movement to avoid it. Jaa doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Jaa misses with a straight right. Bailey throws a hook to the side of Jaa's head but Jaa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bailey scores with a punch to the head. Bailey takes a swing at Jaa's ribcage but misses. Bailey avoids a kick to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jaa looks to land a left hand but Bailey moved out of range nicely. Bailey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jaa.

Tony Jaa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bailey takes one to the chin there. Bailey is looking to clinch but Jaa is avoiding it.
A big left from Bailey misses. Jaa slips a straight right by Bailey. Bailey throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jaa on the side of the head. Bailey misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bailey scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Bailey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bailey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jaa's head. Bailey wants to take a breather but Jaa is having none of it. Jaa trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Bailey manages to pass to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bailey wants to control the pace but Jaa is squirming around nicely. Jaa is trying desperately to improve position. Bailey can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jaa is looking to escape. Bailey content just to control the position here. Bailey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey lands a nice shot to the head. Bailey unloads with some shots from mount but Jaa bucks and avoids them well.
Jaa tries to reverse the position but Bailey maintains control. Jaa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bailey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bailey is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jaa can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jaa tries to lock up and control but Bailey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Poor strikes thrown by Bailey there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bailey thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Bailey circles away from the clinch attempt and Jaa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jaa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bailey. A slow jab from Jaa misses its intended target. Bailey lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Bailey darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Bailey ducks under a wild hook from Jaa. Bailey gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jaa trying to stall but Bailey improves his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A head punch blocked on the inside by Bailey. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Bailey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jaa fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jaa throws a jab but it's blocked by Bailey. Jaa throws a right and a left that Bailey avoids nicely. Jaa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bailey. Jaa misses with a looping right. Jaa throws out a powerful jab. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bailey crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jaa - the referee stops the clock and Bailey gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jaa. Bailey manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. No joy there for Jaa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jaa wants to clinch up but Bailey keeps it at a distance. Jaa throws out a loose jab but Bailey uses good head movement to avoid it. Bailey is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Jaa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bailey throws an overhand right that lands on Jaa's shoulder, as Jaa tries to avoid the shot. Ackeem Bailey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jaa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bailey circles away quickly and effectively. Jaa throws a body punch but Bailey moves out of range. Jaa takes a swing at Bailey's ribcage but misses. Bailey fails to land with a series of punches.
Bailey throws a combination that misses and Jaa counters with a low kick, right behind Bailey 's knee. Bailey misses with a wild body shot. Jaa throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bailey clinches. Tony Jaa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jaa is trying to stall.
Bailey effectively controlling the action here. Jaa is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bailey is defending well for now. Jaa fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Jaa tries to throw a body punch but Bailey avoids it by throwing Jaa back against the cage. Bailey has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jaa regains guard immediately. Bailey won't allow Jaa to sweep him here. Jaa is looking for a triangle here but Bailey uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

And that's the end of the fight! Ackeem Bailey showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bailey has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
