Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joaquin Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Parise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joaquin Hansen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Parise! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hansen throws a series of punches but Parise moves out of range. Hansen shoots in but no luck this time. Hansen looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Parise keeps the fight on the outside. Parise shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Parise tries for a takedown but Hansen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Parise looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Parise has a takedown stuffed. Joaquin Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Parise. Parise shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Parise in particular looking to stall. Parise wants to work for an arm triangle but Hansen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parise has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Parise looks gassed! Hansen regains half guard. Parise gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Hansen tries to clinch and Parise counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hansen won't be happy with that. Parise working the body and head with strikes. Parise throws a strike aimed at the side of Hansen's head but Hansen avoids it well. Hansen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Parise has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hansen is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Parise scoring with strikes but Hansen is staying in there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hansen working to try and regain half guard.
Parise working for a guillotine from mount but Hansen is in no mood to give up. Hansen taking shots to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hansen's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Parise takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parise scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Parise lands punches and elbows. Hansen tries to escape the position.
Parise is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hansen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Parise has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Will Parise go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Hansen rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Hansen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hansen looks for a takedown but Parise sprawls well. Hansen keeps the fight on the outside. Parise keeps the fight on the outside. A clash of legs there as Hansen blocks the low kick. Parise fails with a takedown attempt. Nice takedown defense from Parise. No joy for Hansen on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joaquin Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parise tries to clinch there but Hansen circles away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fight stays on the outside here - Parise looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hansen tries to clinch but Parise moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hansen with a poor takedown so Parise counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Parise slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Parise advances to half guard. Hansen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Parise on the ground. Parise thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hansen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Parise controlling the action here. Parise trying to control from half guard but Hansen is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parise is looking for a kimura but Hansen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Parise to get the leverage. Hansen regains full guard. Nicely done. Parise wants to control from the top but Hansen keeps moving. Parise tries to free his leg and advance position but Hansen is retaining full guard. Hansen striking off his back but it's not causing Parise any problems. Parise is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Parise trying to control the position from guard on top but Hansen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hansen wants to sweep here but Parise controlling him for the moment. Parise trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parise won't allow Hansen to sweep him here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hansen fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Parise takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Hansen closes the distance and clinches. Parise wants the takedown. Hansen is fighting it off but Parise persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hansen's guard against the cage. Parise drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Parise jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Parise is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hansen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hansen has escaped and now he's on top! Parise is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Parise pushes Hansen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Parise shoots in and drives through. Hansen sprawls well. Parise misses with a takedown and Hansen counters with a good low kick that Parise was not able to check. Parise tries to clinch but Hansen moves out of range. Joaquin Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hansen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Parise. Parise shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hansen pinned against the cage. Hansen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Parise has managed to clinch.
Parise tries to pull guard but Hansen won't allow it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hansen is trying to break free. Hansen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hansen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Parise has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hansen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Parise wants to get back to striking at distance but Hansen won't allow it.

Parise gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parise wants to pass the guard but Hansen is keeping the position. Hansen wants to get back to his feet but Parise is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Parise postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hansen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Parise, into his guard. Hansen tries to stand but Parise is controlling from the bottom. Parise has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hansen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Parise keeping moving, preventing Hansen from controlling successfully. Hansen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Parise pulls Hansen in close to prevent any damage. Hansen wants to stand but Parise is controlling his posture from full guard. Parise is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Parise is trying for a kimura here. Hansen looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Parise wins by kimura!
