Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joaquin Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Parise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen throws a series of punches but Parise moves out of range.
Hansen shoots in but no luck this time.
Hansen looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Parise keeps the fight on the outside.
Parise shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hansen's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Hansen tries to escape the position.
Parise is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hansen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Parise has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Parise postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hansen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Parise, into his guard.

Parise has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hansen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Parise is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
