Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Holloway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sensei Raki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Holloway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sensei Raki!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raki shoots for a takedown but Holloway saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Holloway tries to land a leg kick but Raki saw it coming and moves away.
Sensei Raki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holloway fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Raki checks it well.
Raki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Raki looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Raki makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Raki throwing strikes from guard but Holloway blocks nicely.
Holloway wants to sweep here but Raki controlling him for the moment.
Raki looking to sit in guard and control but Holloway gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Holloway has gone for a leg lock! Raki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Holloway's guard.
Raki working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Raki tries to free his leg and advance position but Holloway is retaining full guard.

Raki drops back, looking for a kneebar! Holloway looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Holloway looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Holloway!

Holloway is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Raki has escaped the position, nice work there.
Holloway fails to land a wild elbow strike.
You can see the frustration on Raki's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Holloway sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Raki is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Holloway goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Raki rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Holloway's guard! Nice work there by Raki!
Raki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Raki advances position into side control!
Holloway is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Raki staying calm.

Raki tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sensei Raki dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Raki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Holloway looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Raki wants to take a breather but Holloway manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Raki.

Holloway is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Holloway avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Holloway tries a head kick but it misses.

Raki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Raki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Holloway as he avoids it easily.
Mike Holloway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sensei Raki.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Raki is defended easily by Holloway.
Raki is breathing heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Holloway throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Raki shoots in but Holloway avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Raki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Holloway did well to prevent Raki getting side control.
Raki passes the guard and advances to mount!
Raki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Holloway is looking to escape.
Raki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Raki goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Holloway is on top in guard.
Holloway stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Raki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Raki is trying to hold Holloway in close to prevent damage but Holloway has managed to pass into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Raki gets full guard.
Holloway trying to control the position from guard on top but Raki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Raki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Holloway!
Raki lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Holloway hang on?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sensei Raki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Raki.
No luck for Raki with that takedown attempt.
Raki dives in and grabs Holloway's left leg, looking for a takedown. Holloway pushes down on Raki's head and hops out.
Mike Holloway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sensei Raki.

Raki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Holloway is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holloway is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Raki not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Holloway controls Raki momentarily but Raki frees himself.

Raki wants to control but Holloway is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Raki slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Holloway got a little sloppy there for a moment and Raki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Holloway has managed to get both his arms back between Raki's legs - danger averted.

Raki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Holloway!
Holloway holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Raki tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Raki breaks from Holloway's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Raki has control of Holloway's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Holloway regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Raki wants to control the pace but Holloway is squirming around nicely.
Poor strikes thrown by Raki there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Sensei Raki.
I've got Raki winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
