Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mogul Khan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Augusto Ricardo! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ricardo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Khan! Khan really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ricardo with good strikes from the mount here! Khan is trying desperately to improve position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Khan is working hard here to advance position. Ricardo with good strikes from the mount here! Ricardo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Khan gets back to half guard. Ricardo is trying to control the action in half guard but Khan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Khan tries to get to full guard but Ricardo has control of the leg. Khan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Khan taking some punishment here, with Ricardo in his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khan slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Ricardo won't allow Khan to sweep him here. Ricardo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Khan's head. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Khan is on top in guard.

Khan passes Ricardo's left leg - he's now in half guard. Ricardo is pressing down on Khan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ricardo wants to sweep here but Khan controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Khan trying to control but Ricardo is working from the bottom. Khan tries to free his leg and advance position but Ricardo is retaining full guard. Ricardo doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ricardo can do anything to dispel that myth. Ricardo keeping moving, preventing Khan from controlling successfully. Ricardo wants to sweep here but Khan controlling him for the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Khan fails with the takedown. Khan tries to land a front kick but Ricardo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Khan avoids the body shot from Ricardo.
Khan rushes Ricardo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Khan can't find room to land a body shot as Ricardo controls the action.
Khan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ricardo prevents it.
Ricardo is trying to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Ricardo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Ricardo is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Khan is trying to stick to Ricardo's back but Ricardo is turning into Khan. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Khan's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Ricardo. Ricardo tries to free his leg and advance position but Khan is retaining full guard. Khan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ricardo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Khan looking for a sweep. Not yet Khan, not yet. Khan keeping moving, preventing Ricardo from controlling successfully. Ricardo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ricardo wants to pass the guard but Khan is keeping the position. Ricardo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Khan has his foot on Ricardo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ricardo works his way back into a safe position though. Khan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ricardo!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ricardo tries to reverse the position but Khan maintains control. Khan takes Ricardo's back. Ricardo tries to roll but Khan sticks to his back.

Khan has got one arm under Ricardo's chin. This could be trouble... Ricardo trying to control the other hand but Khan gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Ricardo has tapped out! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mogul Khan!
