Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Calder Beefington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crhistian Browles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Browles comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Knockin on Heaven's Door by: Guns n Roses kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Beefington looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Beefington darts in and clinches Browles up against the cage.

Beefington has picked Browles up - he's going for a ride! Beefington dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Browles tries to roll over but Beefington keeps him under control.

Beefington decides to stand and escape the position.
Browles keeps the fight on the outside.
Beefington fails in his attempt to clinch.
Browles throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beefington's waist but Beefington gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Browles off to one side.
Browles shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Beefington sprawls well. Beefington wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Browles gets slowly back to his feet.
Browles clinches but Beefington breaks the clinch

and Beefington moves into the clinch.

Beefington turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Beefington manages to end up in side control.
Browles takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Beefington thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Beefington pulls guard effortlessly.

Beefington has his foot on Browles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Browles works his way back into a safe position though.

Browles postures up in Beefington's guard and throws a big left but Beefington blocks it.
Beefington wants to stand and escape but Browles is having none of it.

Browles gets to his feet - Beefington follows without any prompting.

and Browles takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Beefington tries to close the distance and clinch but Browles swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Beefington counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Browles with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Browles wants to break the clinch but can't.
Browles has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Beefington avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Beefington drives through and clinches with Browles against the cage.

Beefington lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Beefington is taking a breather. Browles says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Beefington looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Browles on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Beefington is pressing down on Browles's thigh, looking to free his foot. Browles is holding on for now.
Browles has a hand on Beefington's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Beefington takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Beefington really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Browles.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Beefington wants to control from the top but Browles keeps moving.
Beefington slips nicely into half guard.
Beefington perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Beefington prevents Browles from improving his position.
Beefington takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beefington is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Beefington is looking to take a break and control but Browles is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Beefington is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Browles is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Calder Beefington.

and Beefington counters with a single leg into guard. Browles didn't expect that.

Browles has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Beefington can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Browles accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Browles drops back, looking for a kneebar! Beefington looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Beefington looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Beefington!

Calder Beefington showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Beefington has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
