The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Botha will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Botha looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Botha takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Botha swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Emelianenko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Emelianenko wants to pass the guard but Botha is defending well. Emelianenko working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Botha is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Oh Botha is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Ground and pound from Emelianenko. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Emelianenko in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Botha tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Emelianenko!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Femto Emelianenko!
