Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Franklin! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Scott misses with a hook. Franklin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scott looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Franklin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Franklin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Scott, who protects the arm well. Scott explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
That's one minute gone in the round. Franklin slips a jab and a cross from Scott.

Franklin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scott swivels and escapes. Franklin shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense. Scott keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Franklin. No luck for Franklin with that takedown attempt. Michael Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Franklin. Franklin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Scott but Scott pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Franklin shoots in looking for a takedown. Scott tries to sprawl out of it but Franklin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scott manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Scott misses with a two punch combination.
Franklin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Scott throws a right and a left that Franklin avoids nicely. Scott misses with a few strikes there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franklin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Scott wants to get back to his feet. Well, if Franklin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Franklin prevents Scott from standing back up.
Franklin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott is trying to stand up here but Franklin is controlling him well. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Scott wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eddie Franklin dominated that round. That's time! Scott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Franklin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Franklin won't let Scott get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Franklin controlling his opponent. Scott really wants to buck Franklin off and get back to his feet. Franklin has control of Scott's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Scott regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franklin looking to control and managing it successfully. Franklin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Scott is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Scott is trying to stand up. Franklin landing punches. Franklin get's back to his feet. Franklin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Scott's half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Franklin trying to control the action but Scott is working from the bottom. Franklin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Franklin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Scott is just riding it out for now. Franklin eventually gives up the hold. Franklin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Scott sees it coming and defends easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eddie Franklin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Franklin looks for a takedown but Scott sprawls well. Scott swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Franklin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Franklin looking to sit in guard and control but Scott gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Franklin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Scott throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franklin keeping moving, preventing Scott from controlling successfully. Scott pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Franklin is keeping the position for now. Scott drops back looking for a leg! Franklin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Franklin manages to kick Scott off! Scott jumps back into Franklin's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Franklin is on top in guard.
Franklin tries to free his leg and advance position but Scott is retaining full guard. Scott is wriggling around but Franklin manages to pass to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Scott is staying active underneath Franklin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Franklin is looking for submissions but instead, Scott has regained full guard.
Scott is looking to stand up but Franklin isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franklin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Franklin cracks Scott with a solid left hand. Scott wants to get back to his feet but Franklin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Franklin trying to control but Scott is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Eddie Franklin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Franklin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
