Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fernando Samambaia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bernard Hopkins!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samambaia fails with a takedown attempt.
Hopkins misses with a double jab.
Hopkins cracks Samambaia with an open hand slap.


It looks like Fernando Samambaia has been cut.
Hopkins throws a head kick but Samambaia moves out of range.
Hopkins misses with a body kick.
Samambaia gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Samambaia misses with a takedown attempt - Hopkins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hopkins looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Samambaia misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hopkins.
Hopkins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hopkins wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Samambaia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Samambaia shoots in for a takedown but Hopkins shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice body punch from Hopkins.
Samambaia misses with a hook. Hopkins ducked under it nicely.
Hopkins connects with a good right hand that stumbles Samambaia. Samambaia circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Samambaia fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Samambaia or perhaps it was just good defense by Hopkins which made him look bad.
Hopkins scores with a one two! Samambaia had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Samambaia is breathing heavily.
Hopkins throws a right and a left that Samambaia avoids nicely.
Samambaia misses with a low kick.
Samambaia tries for a takedown but Hopkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hopkins fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Hopkins throws a series of punches but Samambaia moves out of range.
Hopkins works the jab nicely.
Hopkins lands a glancing blow to the side of Samambaia's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Samambaia on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Hopkins lands a nice looking body shot.
Hopkins fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Samambaia looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hopkins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hopkins keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Samambaia.
Samambaia drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Hopkins. Samambaia shrugs it off though.
Samambaia slips a jab and a cross from Hopkins.
Samambaia avoids a punch combination nicely.
Samambaia ducks right into an uppercut from Hopkins.
Hopkins with a hook.
Samambaia has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hopkins clobbers Samambaia with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


Fernando Samambaia's cut is getting worse.
Hopkins lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hopkins lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hopkins jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bernard Hopkins dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Fernando Samambaia's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Hopkins drops Samambaia with a beautiful combination! Samambaia stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hopkins is looking for the KO!


Samambaia is rocked!
Fernando Samambaia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Samambaia throws a head kick that misses
and Hopkins counters with a stiff right hand.
Oh Samambaia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Samambaia walks straight into a right hand from Hopkins - that's dropped him! Hopkins jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Samambaia from any more punishment! Samambaia complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Bernard Hopkins!
