Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Peruna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dragan Davydenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragan Davydenko looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pekka Peruna! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dragan Davydenko! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peruna clinches up with Davydenko and pushes him back against the cage. Peruna turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Peruna manages to end up in side control. Peruna controls the position. Davydenko wants to control but Peruna postures up. Peruna tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Peruna tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Peruna has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Peruna moves into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peruna stops a takedown attempt from Davydenko.
Peruna is trying to drag Davydenko to the mat but Davydenko just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Peruna is trying to maintain a safe position but Davydenko gets an underhook and turns Peruna into the cage. Peruna breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Peruna has taken the fight to the clinch.
Davydenko wants to break free but Peruna has control.
Davydenko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Peruna landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Davydenko being controlled against the cage. Davydenko is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Peruna gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Davydenko looks gassed! Davydenko is pressed up against the cage. Peruna has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Davydenko down to the mat. Davydenko avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Peruna slaps away a takedown attempt from Davydenko, before circling back to the center of the mat. Pekka Peruna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dragan Davydenko. Peruna fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Davydenko avoids it really well and circles away. Peruna shoots in and drives through. Davydenko sprawls well. Davydenko shoots and misses and Peruna counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Davydenko's guard now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peruna stands up from guard. Let's bang! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peruna rushes Davydenko and presses him up against the cage. Peruna lands a knee to the body.
Davydenko tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Peruna avoids it. Peruna dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Peruna wants the takedown. Davydenko is fighting it off but Peruna persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Davydenko's guard against the cage. Peruna wants to stand but Davydenko has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Davydenko is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Peruna tries to free his leg and advance position but Davydenko is retaining full guard. Peruna postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peruna is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Peruna looking to pass the guard. Peruna content to stall in guard here. Peruna trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Peruna in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Davydenko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peruna doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peruna manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Peruna thows a big elbow that misses. Peruna stays in close to Davydenko's body and controls the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Peruna trying to control the position from guard on top but Davydenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pekka Peruna dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Davydenko wants to slow Peruna down by chopping away at his legs. Peruna gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Peruna can't get the takedown.
Peruna is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Davydenko can't fight it off and eventually Peruna manages to take the fight to the floor. Davydenko looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Peruna looking to pass the guard. Peruna would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Davydenko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Peruna is looking to stand up but Davydenko won't let him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peruna trying to control but Davydenko is working from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Peruna has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Davydenko is proving hard to escape from. Peruna decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Davydenko, up you get! Davydenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Peruna tries to sprawl out of it but Davydenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peruna manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Peruna clinches up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Peruna creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Davydenko's defenses. Davydenko drops down looking for an ankle pick but Peruna pulls his leg out and moves away.
Peruna has managed to clinch.
Peruna's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Davydenko wants to break the clinch but can't.
Davydenko can't get the takedown.
Pekka Peruna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dragan Davydenko. Peruna breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Davydenko has his takedown stuffed and Peruna counters with a nice double leg into side control. Davydenko won't be happy with that. Peruna working the head and body with strikes. Peruna taking a breather here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davydenko struggling a bit here. Peruna is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davydenko has escaped the position, nice work there. Peruna throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Peruna in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Peruna misses with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Davydenko is being controlled here. You can see the frustration on Davydenko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Davydenko has his takedown stuffed and Peruna counters by moving into the clinch. Peruna manages to break the clinch.
Peruna shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Peruna sitting and controlling from the half guard. Peruna not landing any meaningful shots this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pekka Peruna dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Davydenko with a lazy takedown attempt and Peruna counters by clinching up. Peruna tightens his grip and picks Davydenko up, before dumping him to the ground. Davydenko manages to land in guard. Peruna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davydenko swivels though and keeps the full guard. Davydenko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Peruna pushing down on Davydenko's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Peruna scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Pekka Peruna overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Peruna controlling the action here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Peruna sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Davydenko defending well though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peruna seems to be working for a kimura but Davydenko defends the submission attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Peruna stands up from half guard. Peruna drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peruna tries to score with some ground and pound. Davydenko controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Davydenko is not content to let Peruna control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peruna looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Davydenko is avoiding damage well.
Davydenko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Peruna wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Davydenko trying to remain calm as Peruna controls from the top position. Peruna wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Davydenko, who protects the arm well. Peruna working away. Peruna is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Davydenko can do to turn this around? An elbow from Peruna crashes against the mat.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Davydenko shoots and misses and Peruna counters with a shoot takedown. Davydenko fights it but they end up in guard. Peruna postures up.
Davydenko keeping moving, preventing Peruna from controlling successfully. Peruna stands up from Davydenko's guard - Peruna perhaps looking for a knockout. Davydenko doesn't succeed with the takedown and Peruna holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Pekka Peruna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dragan Davydenko. Peruna wants a takedown.
Davydenko wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Davydenko tries to score a body lock takedown but Peruna shows good agility there to stay on his feet. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Peruna takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Davydenko working hard to break the clinch. Peruna has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Davydenko regains guard immediately.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davydenko avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Davydenko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dragan Davydenko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Peruna decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Peruna shoots in but Davydenko avoids the takedown attempt easily. Peruna will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davydenko is defended easily by Peruna. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Peruna forces Davydenko back against the cage and clinches.
And that's the end of the fight! Pekka Peruna showed his dominance in that final round. Well Peruna has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
