Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ray Monsoon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Sawyer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Monsoon is defended easily by Sawyer.

Sawyer shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Monsoon looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Monsoon is refusing to be controlled, as Sawyer sits in half guard.
Sawyer seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Monsoon is looking for a sweep. Sawyer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sawyer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Monsoon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Monsoon tries to get to full guard but Sawyer has control of the leg.

Sawyer is controlling the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sawyer has his takedown stuffed

and Monsoon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Monsoon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Monsoon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Monsoon throwing strikes but missing.
Sawyer controls Monsoon momentarily but Monsoon frees himself.
Monsoon works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Monsoon is looking to advance position but Sawyer won't allow it.

Sawyer wants to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Monsoon misses with the combination.
Sawyer tries to clinch but Monsoon moves out of range.

Monsoon fails with the takedown.
Monsoon slips a jab and a cross from Sawyer.
Monsoon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Monsoon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sawyer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Monsoon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Monsoon postures up in Sawyer's guard and throws a big left but Sawyer blocks it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sawyer is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Sawyer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Monsoon is one step ahead there.
Monsoon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sawyer's guard.
Monsoon lands with a punch from half guard.
Sawyer is looking to improve his position.
Sawyer is not content to let Monsoon control the position.
Monsoon looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Ground and pound from Monsoon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Monsoon dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Nice defenses there by Sawyer.

Monsoon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Monsoon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Sawyer is trying to control but can't.
Monsoon sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sawyer defending well though.
Monsoon not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Monsoon is pressing down on Sawyer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sawyer is holding on for now.

and Monsoon counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Sawyer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sawyer tries to control but Monsoon wriggling away.
Monsoon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sawyer controlling from the full mount.
Sawyer connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sawyer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Monsoon is squirming around, avoiding Sawyer's attempts to control the action.
Ray Monsoon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Sawyer moves to the back.
Sawyer is riding his opponent, not letting Monsoon buck him off.
Monsoon is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Monsoon is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Monsoon manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sawyer's guard. Nice work there by Monsoon.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tom Sawyer.
Monsoon throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sawyer counters with a nice low kick that buckles Monsoon's knee momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sawyer tries to clinch but Monsoon moves out of range.
Sawyer wants to clinch.
Sawyer doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Monsoon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sawyer's guard.
Sawyer is breathing heavily.
Sawyer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Monsoon passes Sawyer's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Monsoon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Monsoon landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sawyer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Monsoon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sawyer's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Monsoon dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monsoon passes Sawyer's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Sawyer is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Monsoon is staying active.
Monsoon is nestled in close to Sawyer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Monsoon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Monsoon passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sawyer!

Monsoon working the ground and pound effectively.
Sawyer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sawyer controls the position.
Monsoon landing punches.
A nice elbow there by Monsoon.
BOOM! Monsoon connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Sawyer is looking to get to half guard.
Monsoon looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Sawyer covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ray Monsoon!
