Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Angola Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon Shumway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Angola Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gordon Shumway!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shumway is looking to clinch.

Shumway landing some nice looking knees to the body.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Bob just misses with a elbow thrown towards Shumway's brow.

Shumway jumps guard.
Bob trying to control the position from guard on top but Shumway is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Shumway pushes Bob off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Shumway shoots in for a double leg but Bob sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Shumway dodges an elbow strike from Bob.
Bob lands a nice elbow.
Bob looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Bob throws an elbow but it misses.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Bob.
Shumway with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Shumway tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Bob lands an elbow that stopped Shumway in his tracks for a moment.
Shumway misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bob.

Shumway jumps guard and drags Bob to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Shumway is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bob is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bob is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bob has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Shumway wants to get back to his feet but Bob is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bob's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gordon Shumway will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Bob counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Shumway is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Bob is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shumway gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bob gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Bob misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Shumway.
Bob throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Shumway is working for takedown but Bob is calmly controlling the position for now.

and Bob counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Bob lands an elbow just above Shumway 's eye.
Shumway tries to pull guard but Bob holds him up against the cage and eventually Shumway drops back down to his feet.

Bob creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shumway decides to stand back up. Shumway steps back and let's Bob get back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shumway wants to stand and escape but Bob is having none of it.
Bob seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Shumway is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bob is controlling him.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Shumway's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Shumway goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Bob looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Bob wants to get up but he can't break Shumway's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shumway is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bob is controlling him.
Shumway is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bob clinches.
Shumway drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bob pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Bob holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Shumway landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Bob keeps control of Shumway as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Bob throws an elbow but it misses.
Shumway takes an elbow to the temple.
Bob has Shumway pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shumway manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

and Bob counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bob.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Shumway has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bob off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

And that's the end of the fight!
Angola Bob showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bob has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
