Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ash Ketchum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kong Long! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ketchum looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Ketchum winds up and cracks Long with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Long wants to get back to his feet.
Long trying to control from the bottom.
Ketchum is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Long doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ketchum. Ketchum seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Long does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Long really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ketchum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ketchum is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Long can do anything to dispel that myth. Ketchum looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Long wants to hold on but Ketchum pushes him away. Long is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Ketchum looking for a guillotine from mount but Long is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ketchum with shots to the head and body - Long looks very uncomfortable down there. Ketchum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ketchum is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Long to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Long shrugs it off. Ketchum with good strikes from the mount here! Ketchum is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Long is forced to tap! Great finish!
