The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swindon misses with a wild body shot. Swindon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Bjornson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Swindon keeps control of Bjornson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Bjornson breaks from the clinch.
Swindon throws out a loose jab but Bjornson uses good head movement to avoid it. Swindon swinging wilding here.
Swindon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Swindon is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Bjornson has managed to free his arm - good work. Swindon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Swindon is controlling the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swindon is tying to control. Bjornson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Swindon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Swindon content just to control the position here. Bjornson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Swindon on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Swindon is trying to take his opponent's back.
Swindon swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bjornson is now in Swindon's guard. A big mistake from Swindon there, giving up the dominant position! Swindon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bjornson is one step ahead there. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Swindon managing to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swindon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Swindon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Swindon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bjornson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Swindon looks gassed! Swindon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bjornson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Swindon is tightening it up a little... Bjornson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bjornson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bjornson taps out! nice BJJ there by Swindon!
