The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin blocks a jab.
Martin works Oyama's body with a nice hook.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Martin.
Oyama closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Ikoa Oyama has been cut.
Oyama closes this distance looking for a takedown but Martin circles away.
Oyama misses the body punch
and Martin counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Martin lands a jab to Oyama's midsection.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Martin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oyama tries for a takedown but Martin circles away easily
and Martin counters with a low kick, right behind Oyama 's knee.
Oyama is breathing heavily.
No joy there for Martin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Martin scores with the left hand. Oyama knows he should have avoided that one.

Martin lands a big head kick that sends Oyama tumbling to the mat! Martin takes a step backwards and waves Oyama back to his feet - he wants the finish!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oyama tries for a takedown but Martin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ikoa Oyama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Martin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Oyama shoots and misses
and Martin counters with a solid body kick.
Oyama takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Frank Martin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Martin lands with a right and another and another! Oyama is in big trouble! Martin lands again and this time it's lights out for Oyama! A quality knockout there for Martin.
