Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Roosevelt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jan Jan Echano!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Echano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Echano lands with a thumping leg kick.
Roosevelt closes the distance and clinches.
Roosevelt drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Echano gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Roosevelt looking to throw knees to the head but Echano is blocking nicely.
Echano breaks from the clinch.
Echano does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jan Jan Echano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Echano lands a head kick that stumbles Roosevelt and the fighters go to the mat.
Roosevelt is rocked!
It looks like Frank Roosevelt has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Echano stands and steps away. Roosevelt gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oh Roosevelt is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roosevelt tries to clinch up but Echano circles away and keeps his distance.
Roosevelt seems to have got his legs back now.
Roosevelt sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Roosevelt is breathing heavily.
Echano throws a sloppy head kick and Roosevelt moves out of range easily.
Roosevelt shoots for a takedown but Echano saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Echano fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Roosevelt.
Echano swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Echano throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Roosevelt crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Jan Jan Echano!
