Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Snow Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Dess is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Snow Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Dess!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dess tries to clinch up but Man circles away and keeps his distance.
Dess throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
John Dess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dess swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Dess tries to score with a low kick but Man moves his leg out of the way.
Dess is looking to clinch but Man is avoiding it.
Dess with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Man fails with the takedown.
Dess throws a front kick aimed at Man's knee but Man avoids it well.

Dess tries to clinch up.

Man gets a takedown into half guard.

Man is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dess sees it coming and defends easily.

Man is trying to work for a kimura but Dess is defending well.

Dess is looking for a sweep. Man is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dess is looking to escape.

Man is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Dess to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Dess kicks Man off and gets to his feet.
Man shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dess as he avoids it easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dess lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Man has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Man and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
The fighters circling - Dess throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dess throws a front kick aimed at Man's knee but Man avoids it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dess pivots, looking for a leg kick but Man is out of range and Dess settles back down.
Dess wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Man circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Dess. No joy for Man on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snow Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dess tries to land a leg kick but Man saw it coming and moves away.
Dess throws a shot from downtown. Man moves away and avoids it.
Dess wants to clinch up but Man keeps it at a distance.

Dess throws an overhand right that lands on Man's shoulder, as Man tries to avoid the shot.
Man walks into a jab.
Dess displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Man.
Dess throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Man is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dess's half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dess throws a leg kick but Man sees it coming and moves out of range.
Dess takes a swing at Man's ribcage but misses.

Man decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Man is pressing down on Dess's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dess is holding on for now.
Dess trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Man is looking for a kimura but Dess is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Man to get the leverage.
Dess is positioning himself well to prevent Man advancing to mount.

Man is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dess doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Man.
Dess really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Man. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dess desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Man is looking for a kimura here.

Man is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Man is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dess is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Man's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Man's back!
Dess has the hooks in. Man is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Man manages to reverse the position and now he's in Dess's guard. Nice work there by Man.
Man pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dess is keeping the position for now.
Dess has control of Man's left arm, preventing Man from doing any damage.
Man passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Man is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dess is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Dess is looking for a sweep.

Man tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Man has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dess is trying to control Man's posture but Man avoids it.
Dess tries to bench press Man off him but Man keeps the position.
Dess is trying to control Man's posture but Man avoids it.
Man advances nicely into full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dess wants to hold on but Man pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Man with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Dess is wriggling around trying to escape.

Man moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dess has worked his arm free - good work by Dess!

Man goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dess rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Man's guard! Nice work there by Dess!
Dess trying to stand up but can't free himself from Man's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Man isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dess stacks Man on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dess!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Snow Man will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Dess thows a body shot but no joy.
Dess slaps away a takedown attempt from Man, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A jab from Dess finds it's way through Man's defenses.
Dess cracks Man with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dess fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Man checks it well.
Dess tries to land a leg kick but Man saw it coming and moves away.
A bone on bone clash there as Man blocks the leg kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Man checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
John Dess is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dess gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Man to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Man has gone for a leg lock! Dess slips out almost immediately though and dives into Man's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Man is on top in guard.
Dess is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Man drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dess manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Man has Dess in his guard.
Man wants to sweep here but Dess controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dess has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Man is proving hard to escape from.

Dess stands and steps away. Man gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Man.
Dess tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Man paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice uppercut lands for Dess. That snapped Man's head back.
Snow Man is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dess thumps Man with a low kick.
Man blocks a low kick nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Man has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Man there as he acknowledges the shot.
Dess lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Dess tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Man is able to avoid easily.
Dess has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Man will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snow Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dess throws a lazy right hand but Man sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Man shoots in for a takedown but Dess shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Dess comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dess has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
