Church comes to the cage accompanied by The Stroke by Billy Squire. Maxwell Church has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doyle fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Church looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Doyle misses with an uppercut. Church saw that one coming.
The fighters circling - Doyle throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Good work by Church as he checks the leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Doyle.

Church shoots in for a takedown but Doyle shows good takedown defense.
Church bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Horrible takedown by Church or perhaps it was just good defense by Doyle which made him look bad.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Church will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Church is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Doyle is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Doyle has escaped and now he's on top!
Church is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Church has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doyle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Doyle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Church. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Doyle wants to stand and escape but instead Church has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Church wants to control from the top but Doyle keeps moving.
Church will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

I wouldn't like to be where Doyle is right now.

Church swings around for an armbar but Doyle sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Church's guard.

Church shoots in looking for a takedown. Doyle tries to sprawl out of it but Church keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Doyle manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maxwell Church. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Church tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Doyle paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Church is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Doyle has escaped the position, nice work there.
Doyle is still in real trouble! Can Church finish him?

and Church counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Doyle!
Church lands a big shot there that rocks Doyle but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Doyle tries to lock up and control but Church gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Church goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Doyle has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Church but great work by Doyle.
