The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rancatoco will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mean lands a really nice looking cross but Rancatoco seems unphased.
It looks like Waltdisney Rancatoco has been cut.
Mean scores with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rancatoco is letting Mean control him for a moment.
Mean tries to stand but Rancatoco is controlling his head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rancatoco manages to get back to half guard.
Rancatoco is breathing heavily.
Mean looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rancatoco is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rancatoco looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Mean should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mean in particular looking to stall.
Mean looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Mean performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jimmy Mean.
Decent striking displayed by Mean there.

Mean drops Rancatoco with a beautiful combination! Rancatoco stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mean is looking for the KO!
Rancatoco is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mean fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rancatoco, pushing him back against the cage.
Mean breaks the clinch.
Mean cracks Rancatoco with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Rancatoco falls to his knees and Mean doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Mean!
