Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cruise Mahone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cruise Mahone! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mahone fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Liddell rushes Mahone and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mahone avoiding damage as Liddell throws knees to the body.
Liddell tries to score a body lock takedown but Mahone shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Liddell has Mahone pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mahone manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Liddell is pressed up against the cage. Mahone has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Liddell down to the mat. Liddell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Liddell looks to score with a jab to the body but Mahone is just out of range. Mahone tries for a takedown but Liddell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cruise Mahone. Mahone looks gassed! Horrible takedown by Mahone or perhaps it was just good defense by Liddell which made him look bad. Liddell instigates a clinch. Mahone letting Liddell take a breather here. Liddell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Liddell sizes up Mahone with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. A thudding body kick lands there by Liddell!
Liddell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Liddell escapes and gets back to his feet. Liddell misses with a takedown attempt and Mahone counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Liddell wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mahone sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Liddell defending well though. Mahone is keen to just control but Liddell is a slippery customer. Liddell wants to get back to his feet.
Liddell has one foot on Mahone's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Mahone misses with a takedown and Liddell counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Liddell. Liddell wants to control from the top but Mahone keeps moving. Mahone will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Mahone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Liddell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Liddell passes into half guard. Liddell thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mahone tries to roll over but Liddell keeps him under control. Mahone is refusing to be controlled, as Liddell sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell prevents Mahone from improving his position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mahone can do anything to dispel that myth.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Mahone scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Mahone working the ground and pound. Liddell is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mahone's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Liddell is trying to maintain the position but Mahone is very close to passing his half guard. Liddell works his way to full guard. Good work. Mahone stopping the sweep attempt from Liddell. Mahone throws a sloppy strike and Liddell has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Mahone is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Liddell!
